The Craft Behind It

What Sets a Great Splashback Apart

A kitchen splashback looks simple, but it is one of the most scrutinised surfaces in the home. It sits at eye level, in strong kitchen lighting, and every joint line is visible from the moment you walk in.

  • Tight, even grout linesConsistent joint spacing across every tile, kept to the same width from benchtop to top of run.
  • Precise cuts around outlets and cornersPower points, switches, and rangehood flues require accurate cuts so tiles fit flush with no gaps or wide silicone patches.
  • The right tile for the kitchenPattern, format, and colour have to work with the joinery, benchtop, and flooring, not just look good in isolation.
  • Properly sealed where it mattersNatural stone and unglazed tile need sealing before grouting and again on completion so the splashback actually stops splashes.

SPLASHBACK STYLES

Splashback Styles for Sydney Kitchens

We install every tile type used in kitchen splashbacks across Sydney. Whatever finish you are after, we have set it before.

Subway Tiles

Classic, timeless, and endlessly versatile. Subway tiles work in white, charcoal, terracotta, or coloured options and suit kitchens from country cottage to contemporary. The brick-bond and stacked patterns give quite different results from the same tile.

Herringbone

Herringbone adds movement and rhythm to a wall. It works beautifully in marble, stone-look porcelain, or standard ceramic. The angled cuts require precision, but the result is a splashback that becomes a feature rather than a backdrop.

Hex and Geometric

Bold statement walls in mosaic hex or large-format geometric tile. Small hex mosaics create a period bathroom feel when used in a kitchen, while large-format hex in a stone colour suits contemporary, pared-back kitchens. Either format is precision-set for consistent joint spacing.

Mosaic and Feature Inserts

Feature strips and full-coverage mosaics in glass, marble, or pebble tile. A single feature row at eye height transforms a plain subway splashback. Full-coverage mosaic creates a highly textured, artisan finish. We set mosaics on mesh sheet for consistent spacing across the whole run.

Marble and Natural Stone

Luxurious veining and natural variation that no manufactured tile can fully replicate. Marble and travertine splashbacks suit kitchens where the benchtop and joinery are already investing in natural materials. All natural stone splashbacks are sealed on installation to protect against cooking oils and moisture.

Large-Format Porcelain Slabs

Modern and minimal, with near-invisible grout lines that read almost like a solid surface. Large-format porcelain can replicate marble, concrete, or any stone look with excellent durability and very low maintenance. Ideal for contemporary kitchens where a seamless, uninterrupted surface is the design goal.

NEW OR EXISTING KITCHEN

New Kitchen or Existing? We Handle Both.

Whether you are tiling into a brand-new kitchen during a renovation or refreshing the splashback in an established kitchen, the approach is different and we know both.

HOW IT WORKS

How We Install Your Sydney Splashback

Every kitchen splashback job follows the same methodical process, from the first site visit to the final clean.

On-site measure and quote

Sam visits your kitchen to measure the splashback area, assess the substrate, and understand your design intentions. You get a written, itemised quote with no hidden extras.

Tile selection guidance

If you have not yet chosen a tile, we advise on formats, colours, and patterns that suit your kitchen. If you already have tiles purchased or a specific tile in mind, we work directly with your choice.

Substrate preparation and cabinetry protection

All cabinetry, benchtops, and appliances are protected before work begins. The substrate is checked, prepared, and primed ready for tiling. Any surface issues are fixed before a single tile goes up.

Precision tile installation

Tiles are set to consistent joint spacing with cuts made accurately around power points, switches, and rangehood flues. Layout is planned from the most visible point outward so no awkward cut tiles end up in prominent positions.

Grouting, sealing, silicone fillet, and clean

Once adhesive has cured, we grout, seal (where required by tile type), apply a neat silicone fillet at the benchtop-to-tile joint, and do a thorough site clean. Your kitchen is left ready to use.
